ReCon Waste Management is offering an exciting opportunity for a graduate to join our team and work on a collaborative project with TUS. The focus of this role is to contribute to the development of sustainable concrete products derived from recycled waste materials, specifically for precast construction applications.
The primary responsibilities include:
Formulating, designing, and validating novel concrete products to meet industry standards.
Obtaining End of Waste product approval for formulations from entities like NIEA.
Developing manufacturing capabilities for these sustainable products at ReCon.
Implementing on-site testing capabilities at ReCon.
Taking these innovative products to market and fostering the growth of this sector within the ReCon business
The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) and will also have the opportunity to avail of a Post Graduate Diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering.

BSc Hons degree (2:2) in a construction related discipline
Awareness of Waste Management including regulations with appropriate qualifications attained preferably WAMITAB CoTC Level 4 or Operator Certificate of Competence (OCC) in Waste Management operations.
Experience with material handling and industrial processes particularly Concrete manufacture.
Must be legally entitled to work in Northern Ireland and to travel throughout Ireland and the UK at time of application; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Northern Ireland you must upload a copy of it with your application.
Qualifications in Design or Drawing Packages like AutoCad.
Demonstration of Health & Safety awareness including knowledge of local regulations and legislation.
Experience in product sampling, testing and analysis.
Full driving license and ability to travel for work related duties as required.
Understanding of Quality Management Systems.
Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
